Tanya Burr Lips and Nails | Review

Finally found a Superdrug that sold Tanya Burr, was so excited to see that they had the colours I wanted although quite a few were sold out when I went in store.
The nail polishes I got from left to right are:
Penguin chic
Little duck
Bright and early
Midnight sparkles

the lipgloss from top to bottom are:
Aurora
Afternoon tea

you can buy them from feel unique here:

or Superdrug

Afternoon Tea
Aurora
These really neutrally nude colours add the perfect hint of colour and are great for pairing with a bolder eye because it doesn't distract attention away from that. They aren't what I would consider your usual lip gloss the texture is slightly different, it is a bit like a lipstick and a gloss in one and they smell and taste amazing, wasn't deliberate that I tasted it, it just sort of happened.

Lip glosses retail at £6.99 and the nail polishes for £5.99 which is a reasonable price for the quality of the product.

Penguin chic and little duck are my favourite, I just love the colours they are great everyday colours, and the duck egg colour is one of my favourite colours I would have my house all that colour if I could.
With one coat it is quite opaque but 2 just perfects it and makes it look that much better, I don't know how they do it but once it dries it goes streak free and has a beautiful shine to it, such pretty colours.
I already know I want to buy the whole collection, the packaging reminds me of the Chanel nail polishes and they look pretty on ant dressing tables.

bright and early
midnight sparkles.

Bright and early is gonna be so perfect for summer with a tan it will just look so vibrant and warm, I cannot wait for the warmer weather to come so I can wear my sandals again.

I hope they come out with more colours and products in the future, without compromising on quality, a really great product that I've already been recommending to all my friends.

Have you tried out any?
If so what are your favourite colours?

How To Look The Best At Everything Complexion Kit - Light, this kit comes with a mini professional, a hello flawless oxygen foundation, boing concealer and a powder. I really like the foundation and how it feels on my skin I purchase one of these kits to take on holiday with me the good thing is you can take all the things out the box and then reuse it as a sort of keepsake box.

Benefit just excel at how pretty their products come packaged, I'm in love and the mini porefessional is super handy.

I would say these are a great gift for anyone who likes makeup because if they do no like the product then, it is only little so it feels a lot less guilty, or the perfect gift for a girl just starting out in makeup it allows for you to experiment with different products till you find what you like.

Bleach Toner & Silver shampoo

I have a lot of hair it is long and think so it was important I had enough to tone all of my hair, my hair had gone quite patchy and brassy throughout the bleaching process and it needed to be more white and have less yellow tones in order for me to get to the colour of pink I wanted my hair needed to be as white as it could.

Alongside the toner I bought the silver shampoo which is meant to help with the same problems but is much more about maintenance it wouldn't work just on its own so, after using both boxes of the toner and getting reasonably high off the fumes, it was time to wash the toner out, luke warm water is best for the hair as it helps remove the product but doesn't leave any residue.
After all over the past couple of days I had bleached it twice and was now using two toners on it, my scalp at the front of my head was slightly irritated from too much bleach but I was like I have come this far I am not just going to give up so I carried on.

Each box contains the colourant the developing lotion in its bottle and a reincarnation mask to try and help restore the hair back to a stronger more manageable condition, and also a pair of gloves to protect the hands from the harmful chemicals.

I have to say it is one of the best toners I have used and I was surprised because I didn't really hold any high hopes for the product.

You can buy the toner

and silver shampoo

There is also a conditioner that word alongside the shampoo

How To make Katsu Curry | Recipe

I have always loved the Katsu curry from places like Wagamamas and Yo sushi and other small Japanese food places, it had made me always want to try to make katsu, so I looked up several recipes online and find one from the guys over at Sorted Food, and was beyond excited to try it, warranted it doesn't taste like the Wagamamas sauce I so love but it does still taste really delicious.

Above are a list of ingredients you will need for the sauce:
1 onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
thumb sized piece of ginger, chopped
    pinch of chilli flakes
    1 tbsp mild curry powder
    1 tbsp plain flour
    mug of chicken stock (250ml)
    squeeze of honey
    splash of soy sauce

The recipe for the chicken and rice also calls for:

basmati rice (100g)
2 chicken breasts
1 egg, beaten
handful of plain flour
handful of breadcrumbs (panko are best)

I followed the recipe pretty much exactly, I will be including pictures so you can see how mine looked as it progressed along.

Find the recipe

fry the onion, garlic, ginger and chilli flakes in a shot of oil for a few minutes to soften.

spoon the flour and curry powder into the pan and stir for a minute.

gradually pour in the chicken stock as you stir, then add the honey and soy.

simmer for 10 minutes, then blend with a stick blender for smooth consistency.

dump the rice into the boiling water, stir and simmer for 10 minutes until cooked.
slice into each chicken breast and open like a book into a thinner butterfly shape.

season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then dip into the flour, then beaten egg mixture and finally the breadcrumbs
fry the chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes on each side in a generous glug of oil in a pan over a gentle heat until golden brown and cooked right through.

drain the rice and serve in a mound on the plate.
cut the chicken breast into strips, double checking that it’s cooked through, then place on the rice, spoon over the sauce and sprinkle with the spring onions.

Sadly mine doesn't look quite as pretty as Wagamamas but the guys over at sorted food have lots of great food recipes and if you love cooking as much as I do I'd definitely check them out you won't regret it

Bleach London Hair

I first and foremost have to say I love the packaging, I have to be honest and say I did bleach my hair first with salon bleach, purely because I have so much much hair that even two boxes wouldn't have worked. So Instead used this the next day to even the colour out and touch up bits that I had missed, I am pleasantly surprised at just how well it had worked. The only thing I will say is that it has a much stronger smell than the bleach that I am used to, so I would definitely recommend doing it in a well ventilated area.

Also with any dye you should skin test to make sure you aren't allergic, I didn't do this which is bad but luckily I wasn't allergic.

Included in the kit is two bleach powder sachets and the developer a mixing bowl and a small mixing brush, I got a comb to help separate sections and a longer tint brush in order to get to the difficult to reach parts of my head.

It should look something like this when it is mixed, as it develops quickly I would recommend using it as soon as you have mixed it and enlisting help of needs be.

My hair still had a lot of brasiness in it, so toning it was the next step. I don't really have any pictures of my hair apart from when I finally got it pink, I tried as much as possible to let it dry naturally, half of it was easiest to do whilst just wearing an old top, so nothing would get damaged and doing it in the bathroom.

Once I finally got it pink it looked like this:

wishlist

Frends headphones, If you have ever seen them you will know how beautiful they are, I feel my life would be much better with them in it. They are practical yet fashionable who said that an accessory couldn't look pretty too, I first saw them on youtube when spotted in a giveaway and then I just started to see them everywhere.

iPad mini, I have the regular iPad and it just doesn't fit into like most of my bags so then it just gets left at home and it is such a waste because I really enjoy using it on trains for catching up on Tv listening to music or seeing what is going on in the world, and some of the games aren't too bad either.

Michael Kors ipad sleeve is sophisticated and luxurious and would just be perfect for protecting it. This is sort of those I need the other thing in order to need it, but hey like I keep saying it is practical, the more it is protected the less likely it is to get damaged.

Charlotte Tilbury, I keep seeing her makeup on youtube and my sister has some and the packaging is just so perfect and from what I've heard the makeup is pretty great too.

Fuji instanx if you haven't seen these all over Instagram then where have you been, they come in a variety of colours and retro is a big thing right now, I really hope I get one for my birthday so I can document it easily, so many pictures never get printed and it is such a shame, love having memories all over albums and walls makes you happy whenever you see them.

A pug may seem a bit random but I have wanted a dog for the longest time I have always known I wanted a smaller dog and I've been lusting over the pugs on Instagram they are just so adorable I think I would weep with happiness if I ever got one.

The pug would make me the happiest, if you don't love them you should :)

What is on your wish list?

Printable makeup? | Mink

Wait till you hear this a 3D printer that can print any colour of makeup you want, I'm not really entirely sure how it all works but that's pretty crazy, like you could be watching a tutorial on youtube and then have that colour moments later.

It is things like this that make me realise how much technology is moving on. I still want to grab stuff out the TV like in Charlie and the chocolate factory, but none the less this is still pretty awesome.

You could literally have the perfect colour to go with your outfit. The demonstration currently only shows eyeshadows but there is no stopping them creating lipsticks and foundations and creams or powders in the future.

It is expected to retail for around $300 for girls 13-21 I wish I had access to that when I was younger, even the way I applied it would still be awful, I'd have so much more to play with.

Really makes you wonder what the future holds for makeup, there is so much scope it literally could go anywhere, definitely don't think it's death to the beauty counters just yet but we've seen a lot of change in the world in a decade, still waiting for my hover car.
